Job description

In the framework of the EU project GIGAGREEN, one position is available from January 2023 onwards for 18 months. GIGAGREEN aims to develop innovative materials and fabrication processes for “3+gen” batteries technology. ALPhANOV will contribute showing the advantages of surface functionalisation by Ultra-Short Pulse (USP) laser. In particular, innovative laser texturing strategies to improve the adhesion of active materials with charge extractors will be developed. Extension of solutions over large area will be addressed as well.
You will be embedded into a team of researcher, engineers and technicians, part of the Laser Processing department. 

Main Duties :

  • designing, implementing and validating USP structuring/patterning processes for specific surface functionalization applications;
  • carrying out surfaces characterization;
  • developing new strategies and approaches for an effective, reliable and economically convenient USP Laser surface structuring/patterning extension over large area;
  • presenting the results at workshop, meetings and conferences.

Profile

The applicant must:

  • have a PhD (Master) in Laser Matter interaction or Surface functionalization by laser, Laser processing or similar
  • possesses solid scientific and technical background in laser matter interaction with ultrashort pulses for different materials type (metals, ceramics, glass, etc.). Knowledge in electrochemistry and battery technology will be an asset.   
  • be innovative in technology development
  • be fluent in English, ideally in French as well
